There's always something going on at the Lakeland Hills Family YMCA, whether you're a child, family, teen, adult or older adult, we have plenty of fun activities for you! And, many are open to non-members!

Jazz “Trial” Class
Feb 12 @ 1:15 pm – 1:45 pm

Jazz is a uniquely American and expressive form of dance. Program starts with stretching, isolations, and strengthening exercises. Additionally, students will move across the floor to work on turns leaps, jumps, and runs, before ending with a fast-paced combination to fun, upbeat music. Class is free and open to non-members but pre-registration is a must.

Kids Valentine Cupcake Decorating Workshop
Feb 13 @ 4:00 pm – 5:45 pm

The Y is partnering with Whole Foods in Parsippany to host a kid’s cupcake decorating workshop. This free program is open to the community but space is limited. Choose from one of two sessions and please register promptly.

Red Cross Babysitting Course
Feb 15 @ 9:30 am – 2:00 pm

Get certified in this one day class and learn how to be a responsible babysitter.

You’ll learn how to supervise and entertain children of different ages, and what to do in case of emergency. Must be at least 11 by time of class. Non-members welcome but space is limited. Need more info? Contact Robb Elko. Financial assistance available.

Fee: $60 for members, $75 for non-members

Sing & Play Series for 1-4 Year Olds
Feb 21 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

Join us on the third Friday of the month for a half hour of themed interactive songs and music with Miss Paula of Miss Paula’s Music & Me. The fun continues with one hour of free play on our equipment in the gym including an inflatable moon walk. This is a playful activity for you and your child during the “witching hour!” Pre-registration required for each class, non-members welcome.

4-Part Yoga Series
Mar 8 @ 1:00 pm – 2:15 pm

This series will introduce you to the basics of Hatha yoga. This type of yoga includes the practice of asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), which help bring peace to the mind and body. Join Stacy as she introduces the basic poses and alignment of yoga. If you’ve never stepped on a yoga mat before, this series is for you. Fee includes all four sessions.
