There's always something going on at the Lakeland Hills Family YMCA, whether you're a child, family, teen, adult or older adult, we have plenty of fun activities for you! And, many are open to non-members!

November Teen Night
Nov 16 @ 6:15 pm – 8:30 pm

Come to the Y with your friends and enjoy an evening just for you! Swimming, Kids Zone, gym games, music, indoor GaGa, and snacks are all available to you. Free for members and 7th Grade Pass Holders; non-members welcome at $5. All participants must have a [ddownload id="6700" style="link" text="Teen Night Contract"] signed with the Y.

Annual Polar Plunge
Jan 12 @ 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
A heated tent will be provided, along with a bonfire and food all generously provided by Marc Lore & WalMart.

Special Guest: OLYMPIC SILVER MEDALIST CONNOR JAEGER

THIS YEAR’S PLUNGE GOAL: $20,000…

We will be incorporating Mobile Cause into our event. You will have the chance to create your own fundraiser page, personalize it, and share it out through social media, text, and email making it easier than ever rally support!

Everyone (Plungers and Spectators) must register in advance!

Prizes awarded courtesy of California Beach Hut for the Top 3 fundraisers!
ALL FEES WILL GO TO “GIVE A KID THE Y” FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Team Member Plungers: $25 Includes T-Shirt (if registered by 1/5/20)
Team Member Spectators: $15

Non-Team Member Plungers: $30 Includes T-Shirt (if registered by 1/5/20)
Non-Team Member Spectators: Single $15
Non-Team Member Spectators: Family (up to 5) $35

Tips for Plungers

  • Participants should wear a swim suit and lace-up sneakers for the plunge.
  • Flip flops or Crocs are not permitted. Shoes need to remain on when in the water.
  • Bring a towel and warm layers of clothes to change/put on after the plunge
  • Port-a-john will be available. No changing rooms.

Member Appreciation Day
Feb 12 @ 6:30 am – 10:00 pm

Join us for Member Appreciation Day. Have some juice or coffee and grab a bagel and some fruit as the Y staff and board members greet you with a smile.

6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. in the Lobby

5:00 p.m. – closing in the Health & Fitness Center downstairs.

Valentine’s Day
Feb 14 all-day

All day long, members may “bring a non-member” whether friend or family to fitness classes as well as workout sessions! Please note: Y members must accompany their non-members.

Feb 15 @ 9:30 am – 2:00 pm

Get certified in this one day class and learn how to be a responsible babysitter.

You’ll learn how to supervise and entertain children of different ages, and what to do in case of emergency. Must be at least 11 by time of class. Non-members welcome but space is limited. Need more info? Contact Robb Elko. Financial assistance available.

Fee: $75 for members, $100 for non-members

 

Community Food Bank Trip
Feb 15 @ 11:30 am – 1:30 pm

We’re taking a bus trip to help package food that’s going to help others. The Community Food Bank of NJ is located in Hillside, NJ. Bus leaves the Y promptly at 10:30 am and leaves the Food Bank about 1:45pm for the return home. This is the perfect opportunity for families to come together and share quality time helping others, or for those volunteering as part of community service.

CANCELLED: Volunteers Wanted for Earth Day
Mar 4 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Join us for a volunteer project  preparing the wooded area behind the Y in anticipation of spring and summer camp activities that will include: moving and spreading wood chips, moving picnic tables, and general clean-up. Suggested tools to bring: work gloves, rake or shovel, wheelbarrow, pitchfork. For your efforts, you will be rewarded with lunch! All are welcome to participate but registration is requested.
