The Citizen of the Year Award is presented to individuals who, through his or her volunteer efforts, have made a difference in the quality of life for residents in the communities the Y serves.
The Educator of the Year Award has two categories: K-8 Educator of the Year, and the High School Educator of the Year. Both honor education professionals who have gone above and beyond in the development of youth/teens in the Y’s service area, through a significant, positive, and guiding influence in one or more of the following areas:
- the classroom
- athletics
- enrichment/extracurricular programs
Individuals may be nominated from any school, public or private, within the Y’s service area. Nominations closed.
This award is presented to two eighth-grade students based solely on community service. The application requires two letters of recommendation. The two winning students will each receive a free one-year membership to the Y, an engraved plaque, and a $100 donation to the charity of their choice. Nominations closed.
This award is presented to two high school seniors based solely on community service. The application requires two letters of recommendation. The two winning students will each receive a $1,000 college scholarship, a free one-year membership to the Y, and an engraved plaque. Nominations closed.
