1st-3rd Grades | Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

The Explorer program focuses on developing skills in a variety of athletic, cooperative and creative outdoor activities, improving their swimming skills, and continuing to develop their social and emotional intelligence. There are full day and half day options available. The Explorers will be grouped by age and gender and have 14-16 campers in each group with 2 counselors.

The daily group schedules are customized to satisfy the interests of the campers. Specialty instructors plan and execute activities in the specific curriculum areas. The group counselors assist the campers with the projects and with the overall supervision and safety of their group. All campers will have two 45-minute rotations per day. Each day the groups will have 1 rotation with a specialty instructor and 1 rotation facilitated by the counselors. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the half day Explorers will have swim lessons in the morning and full day Explorers will have swim lessons 2 days per week in the afternoons.

Super Senior Campers continue with a more advanced morning rotation schedule. Summer Camp is where the campers often find their passions and talents by experiencing new activities. This quality camp experience provides our campers with the opportunity to learn powerful lessons in community, character building and healthy living.

Super Seniors will eat lunch and have recreational play time where they can interact with campers within the Super Senior and Adventure Villages. During this time campers can play four-square, basketball, GA-GA, have fun on the playground or just relax with their friends and have ice-cream. All campers must be registered for ice cream via online waiver before the start of camp.

Our summer camp program encourages and supports the participation of individuals with disabilities in all programs and services. Inclusion in our summer camp means that individuals with disabilities (including but not limited to: ADD, ADHD, ODD, OCD, Sensory Issues and Spectrum Disorders) are welcome to participate in the same environment as their peers. The SKOR Village will allow campers to be exposed to the same activities as day camp, but with an individualized schedule and a counselor assigned to a minimum of two campers. The counselors of these groups will work with a Behavior Specialist to target a wide range of skills including conversations: (i.e. winning and losing, personal space, joining a group, social cues and so much more).

Our team of qualified staff ensures that your child has a fun, successful, quality experience within a camp setting. If an aide is provided, at the parent’s expense, we are happy to work with them to ensure the best outcome for your child. Aides recruited by families will be required to go through YMCA training and background checks. Additional information and an intake meeting with the new families is required prior to enrollment.

For more information, contact Camp Director, Shannon Bujoreanu.
