Rotation Schedule:

Y-Staff:

Caroline Marvin

Counselor

I just finished up my sophomore year at the College of New Jersey and I love it there. I study elementary education with a dual major in i-STEM. I enjoy music and love to sing; my parents says I always have. This will be my first year at a YMCA, but I have been a counselor at other summer camps. My favorite camp memory is the time my supervisor told me he recognized my love for crafting as a camper so he put me in charge of it when I became a counselor. I hope to encourage my campers to do what they enjoy as well! I have always worked with kids often and being an older sister, I started early.

Hallie Stevens

Counselor

Hi, my name is Hallie and I’m excited to be working at the YMCA this year. Some of my hobbies and interests include playing lacrosse, art, and spending time with family and friends. I love working with children and frequently babysit. I also used to attend summer camp at Lakeland Hills YMCA when I was younger. Because I was a once a camper myself, this motivated me to become a Counselor-in-Training when I grew older. I previously worked at camp at Randolph YMCA, and this will now be my third year as a camp counselor here at Lakeland Hills. I’m looking forward to this summer!

Steve Lauto

Specialist - Fun & Fitness

Hi, I’m Steve, the Fun & Fitness specialist here at the Lakeland Hills YMCA Summer Camp. This will be summer number nine spent here at the Y.  When I’m not at camp, I spend my days in school.  I’ve been a public school teacher in NJ for the last 19 years, eight of which were spent coaching HS basketball. I’m an avid runner and love all sports, both watching and participating. In my spare time I enjoy spending  with my beautiful daughter, doing anything and everything that makes her smile.   I look forward to another great summer here at camp.

Lori Loughlin

Specialist - Arts & Crafts

Hi! This is my fourth summer as an Arts/Crafts Specialist at the Lakeland Hills YMCA. I am so excited once again to be introducing campers to artists and art techniques. I have a BFA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a BS in Psychology, as well as an MA in Education with Special Education certification from Caldwell University. Over the years, working as a graphic designer, a floral designer, an elementary school art teacher, and an art specialist at the Y have kept my creativity alive! Parsippany Troy Hills School District is my employer during the school year. But, during the summer, I get to combine my two great passions—art and teaching. I look forward to working once again with the fantastic staff at the YMCA and hope to make art fun and rewarding for all the campers!

Greg Pizzano

Specialist - Environmental Science

You may recognize me from the pool deck or camp last year, as I have been working for the Y for the past 6 years. I grew up here at the Y beginning in pre-K, going to camp and volunteering through Leaders Club. I am currently a rising senior at Penn State University, majoring in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management. During the school year, I work as an Environmental Educator for Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center and Penn State’s Outdoor School.  I have taught programs that provide children with a positive outdoor education experience as they learn about the natural world through hands-on lessons and guided exploration.  I am excited to take the experiences I have gained in school during my time as the Environmental Science Specialist this summer!

Jessica Prentice

Specialist - Challenge

My name is Jessica Prentice. I graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Education. Since then I have worked in several school districts in the Morris and Sussex county area for about 10 years. I am currently working as a 6th grade English teacher. Outside of school, I love arts and crafts, football, and gardening. I look forward to the warm weather, so I can spend all my time outside with my family and friends. As a child, I attended several summer camps for soccer and girl scouts which were always the highlight of my summer vacation. I look forward to making my second summer at the YMCA awesome for everybody!
