Hi, my name is Mike Jones, and I teach middle school English at Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology. I am originally from Warren County, but now live in Sussex County. I also work as the girls’ varsity basketball coach. I played college basketball for the College of Staten Island, and I have worked as a basketball coach for Florida International University and Sussex County Community College. Besides a degree in English for Staten Island, I also have a Master’s degree in sports and recreation management. I also have a son named Sebastian. This will be my second year working for this awesome camp.
My name is Stephen Scevoli, and I am newly graduated from Morris Catholic High School in Denville, New Jersey. This fall I will be attending Cabrini University in Radnor, Pennsylvania, with an anticipated major in Exercise Science and/or Secondary Education. I have always been involved in athletics. I started playing t-ball when I was 5 years old. What started out as t-ball eventually translated into baseball and I have played at all levels since. When I was 12 years old, one of the highlights of my youth was playing baseball in the Little League World Series with the Par-Troy East Little League. This fall in addition to attending Cabrini University as a student, I will continue my baseball career as a member of the Cabrini Cavalier baseball team. During the spring season, I participate in the Challenger Games. The Challenger Games are baseball games that allow special needs young adults to play a game of baseball with current players. I find this experience to be especially rewarding because I can bring joy to others by sharing the game I love. I also participate as a team leader and mentor in the youth program at my church. I began my experience at the YMCA as a camper myself. This summer will be my second year as a camp counsel. I look forward to bringing fun and enthusiasm to this year’s group of campers.
