Karen Holeczko

Site Director

My name is Karen Holeczko, I am originally from upstate New York where I grew up on a dairy farm. I wanted to be a teacher since 11th grade. I have an associate degree in Liberal Arts – Humanities from SUNY Cobleskill Ag and Tech, a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics Education from SUNY Oneonta and a master’s degree in Secondary Education from The College of Saint Rose. I taught middle school, high school, was an adjunct at a college, and substitute taught K-12 at various schools in NY before moving to NJ in 1996. My first job in NJ was working with the Lakeland Hills YMCA summer camp and substituting for the aftercare program. I then had my two children who are now a senior in high school and a senior in college. I taught in Parsippany for two years and have been teaching in Montville since 2004. I currently teach Foods, Interior Design and Child Development.

Donna Ricciardi

Co-Director

I left my profession as a Computer Programmer to raise my two daughters who are now college graduates building their own careers. I chose to be involved in their educational environment through volunteering and feel that I have made a positive impact on most everything I chose to get involved in. To this day, I can still hear my husband saying, “you are doing a fantastic job for all the children of our community … now if only you could bottle up your ideas and energy and sell them!” LOL. YEARS later, I found that I still had the energy and the ideas. Three and 1/2 years ago I answered an ad for a position with the LHYMCA Kids Club after school program where I knew that my experience as a mom and as a liaison for children, teachers and parents could be utilized. Kids Club is an outlet for my energy and creativity … a place where I can make children happy.

Jennifer Nathan

Door Director

Hi, my name is Jennifer, and have been an employee of the YMCA for several months, including last year. I had the privilege of being able to be a stay at home mom, one of the most rewarding jobs. I have worked with children for many years at Sacred Heart School in Rockaway. As most of you know, volunteering is important. I spent at least 4 days a week helping where I could. I find I’m at my happiest when working with children – watching them learn and grow and come into their own. I look forward to a wonderful year getting to know you, the parents, and your children. I will end with, I really love my job at the YMCA and here’s to a great year ahead!!!

Mark Hladyk

Support Staff

My name is Mark Hladyk and I enjoy working with children and animals. I am a Russian adoptee, coming to America when I was 3 ½ years old along with my twin brother. We were very lucky to be able to attend YMCA sleep away summer camp for many years. I learned a lot about being a counselor by being a camper. I took riding lessons at camp and later helped younger children learn to ride. I love photography and music and enjoy singing karaoke and would love to share photography and music with your children. I also love animals and have studied animal care. I live with my mother, brother and 2 rescue dogs Chloe and Tipsy.

Cole Hopler

Floater

My name is Cole Hopler, I am 21 years old and am going to County College of Morris this upcoming fall to continue towards my teaching degree. Two of main hobbies in life are sports and working with children of all ages. For the past four summers I’ve worked at Summer Plus Camp in Denville, and taught baseball lessons to kids briefly at The Baseball Station during the winter of my junior year at Morris Knolls High School. I would like to help make a positive impact on kids lives whether it’s at camp, here at Kids Club, or as a teacher in the future. The best memory that I have from anything camp related when I was younger was when I used to go the baseball camp that Morris Knolls hosted in the summers for young kids to attend. There was one coach in particular named Casey Elias, and he was one the main reasons why I fell in love with the game of baseball and still play to this day. It made my camp experience fun and memorable. I would like to one day leave a long lasting impression on someone’s life like Casey had on mine.
