PART OF THE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AWARD – THE WILLIAM KOGEN COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

The William Kogen Community Service Award is presented to two high school seniors in our service area based solely on community service. Open to seniors in both public and private high schools.

This application requires two letters of recommendation. Each letter must be written by an adult who knows you well, but it is not a relative.

Letters of recommendation must be submitted electronically as a doc/docx or pdf format.

The two winning students will each receive a $1,000.00 college scholarship and a free one-year membership to the Y, awarded at the Y’s Annual Dinner and Awards Presentation. The winners, along with their parents/guardians and a teacher of his or her choice, are invited as our guests for the evening.

ANNUAL GOLF OUTING

Our Annual Golf Outing is a signature fundraising event that brings together community members, local businesses, and YMCA supporters for a day on the course with a purpose. More than just a round of golf, this event directly supports the Lakeland Hills Family YMCA’s mission by helping fund programs that strengthen youth, support families, and promote healthy living. Participants enjoy a great day of golf, networking, and camaraderie—knowing their involvement makes a meaningful impact right here in our community.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY THROUGH ENGAGEMENT EVENTS

Lakeland Hills Family YMCA mission is to provide social responsibility to our community. By offering Enrichment Events focused on wellness, nutrition and disease awareness, we help educate people about important health topics and encourage them to take steps to improve their physical and mental health. By doing so, Lakeland Hills Y has a positive impact on the entire community by reducing healthcare costs, improving productivity, and increasing overall quality of life. We work hard to make a positive difference in our community.

DROWNING ELIMINATION

Drowning can happen nearly anywhere with standing water. Parents and caregivers need to equip them with the tools they need to be confident in and around water, so they don’t lose out on the health benefits of exercise, the opportunities to bond with family and friends and the sense of accomplishment when they learn new skills. Teaching children how to be safe around water is a necessity. The YMCA can help you make sure your children learn essential water safety skills, which can open up a world of possibilities for them to satisfy their curiosity safely.

ADAPTIVE PROGRAMS

Programs for all!

The YMCA offers various adaptive programs from life skills, enrichment, swimming and more! Adaptive Swim I-SNAP (Individual Special Needs Aquatic Program) at the Y provides youth and adults with disabilities the chance to learn how to swim in a safe, fun atmosphere. Our Inclusive Program Option and Individuals with Developmental Disabilities provide an environment that fosters learning and enrichment and ensures that participants have a fun, successful, and quality experience.
