ACRO DANCE 5-10 Years Old

At the Lakeland Hills Family YMCA, teens are valued and recognized for their potential as being happy, healthy, and productive community members. The Y offers programs for teens to build self-esteem and self-confidence, learn healthy lifestyle choices, achieve their personal and educational goals, and create new friendships and lasting relationships in a safe, supportive and engaging environment.

A mix of dance and gymnastics that combines smooth moves with flips, tricks, and strength.

BEGINNER BALLET 3-5 Years Old

At the Lakeland Hills Family YMCA, teens are valued and recognized for their potential as being happy, healthy, and productive community members. The Y offers programs for teens to build self-esteem and self-confidence, learn healthy lifestyle choices, achieve their personal and educational goals, and create new friendships and lasting relationships in a safe, supportive and engaging environment.

A beginner ballet class for ages 3–5 that teaches basic ballet steps, coordination, and expression through imaginative movement and music. Geared toward our youngest dancers; this class explores movement through music and props.

BALLET AND TAP COMBO AGES 4-5

A fun and engaging combo class introducing 4–5-year-olds to the basics of ballet and tap through movement, music, and creative play. Students should bring both ballet and tap shoes to each class.

A mix of dance and gymnastics that combines smooth moves with flips, tricks, and strength.

BOYS HIP HOP AGES 6-10

An energetic all-boys hip-hop class that blends fresh dance moves with awesome tricks for a high-energy, confidence-boosting experience.

A beginner ballet class for ages 3–5 that teaches basic ballet steps, coordination, and expression through imaginative movement and music. Geared toward our youngest dancers; this class explores movement through music and props.

HIP HOP AND JAZZ DANCE

5-10 Years Old

This class teaches traditional techniques to popular pop music. It is a high-energy class that all. An energetic and expressive style that combines sharp, stylish movements with rhythm and personality. Jazz shoes are optional.

LYRICAL BALLET AGES 6-9

A graceful class combining ballet technique and lyrical expression, perfect for ages 6–9 to develop poise, musicality, and a love of dance.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT AGES 3-5

Geared toward our youngest dancers; this class explores movement through music and props.

BEGINNER ACRO/GYMNASTICS AGES 3-5

A fun, high-energy preschool acro and gymnastics dance class that builds confidence, coordination, and creativity through movement and excitement.

MEET SARAH

Director, Dance Academy

Hi, I’m Sarah! I’m proud to lead the Dance Academy at Lakeland Hills YMCA.

I’ve been dancing since the age of two and began my teaching career after dancing through college. With experience in acro, ballet, tap, and jazz, I focus on creating a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment where dancers of all levels can build confidence, develop skills, and enjoy the process.

Over the past year, it’s been incredibly rewarding to build and grow our dance program within the YMCA community. Whether your child is new to dance or continuing their training, our goal is to create a space where every dancer feels confident, engaged, and excited to participate.

Dance is also incorporated into our summer camp experience, giving even more opportunities for kids to explore movement, creativity, and self-expression.
