Whether you are racing toward a personal best, walking with family, jogging alongside friends, or cheering from the sidelines, there is a place for everyone in the flock. Lace up your running shoes, bring your best Thanksgiving spirit, and join us for a fun, festive morning filled with achievement, belonging, and community connection.

Now in our third year as host, Lakeland Hills Family YMCA is proud to continue this cherished Mountain Lakes tradition with appreciation for the community leaders and volunteers who helped build its legacy.

Rain or shine. Runners, walkers and strollers are welcome.

RACE DETAILS

The Mountain Lakes Turkey Trot is a USATF-sanctioned 5K for participants of all ages and abilities.

Date: Thursday, November 26, 2026, THANKSGIVING MORNING

Race Start: 9:00 AM

Check-In and Race-Day Registration: 7:30 AM

Start and Finish: Wildwood Elementary School

Address: 51 Glen Road, Mountain Lakes, NJ 07046

Children Ages 2 and Younger: Free

Race-Day Schedule

7:30 AM — Check-In and Race-Day Registration

8:50 AM — Call to the Post

9:00 AM — Start Trotting

Registration Fees

$35 through Wednesday, November 18 at 11:59 PM

$40 beginning Thursday, November 19, including Thanksgiving Day

Participants who register by Monday, November 9 are guaranteed an official 2026 Mountain Lakes Turkey Trot T-shirt.

Packet Pickup

Race packets may be picked up at the starting location on Thanksgiving morning. However, advance packet pickup is strongly encouraged to avoid crowds and additional wait time.

Beginning at 7:30 AM at Wildwood Elementary School.

A Thanksgiving Tradition for Everyone

The Mountain Lakes Turkey Trot is about more than crossing the finish line. It is an opportunity to achieve a goal, connect with neighbors, create family memories, and begin Thanksgiving Day together.

Race-day festivities will include:

  • DJ and music
  • Coffee and hot chocolate
  • Snacks and refreshments
  • Event T-shirts for eligible registered participants
  • Awards and recognition
  • Thanksgiving fun for the whole community

Important Participant Information

  • USATF-sanctioned event
  • USATF Certified 5K Course — NJ25032MNS
  • Paul Miller Grand Prix Event — 500 points
  • Walkers are welcome
  • Strollers are welcome
  • Event takes place rain or shine

For the safety of all participants, please leave dogs, bicycles, scooters, skates and similar equipment at home.

Sorry, dogs are not permitted on the course.
