Lakeland Hills YMCA Competitive Swim Team
Lakeland Hills YMCA Competitive Swim Team gives swimmers the opportunity to grow through competitive swimming while building confidence, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Led by experienced coaches, LHY Swim Team helps athletes improve stroke technique, build endurance, set goals, and learn what it means to be part of a team. Swimmers are supported in and out of the pool as they develop strength, character, and lasting friendships.
Our team competes through YMCA and USA Swimming opportunities and welcomes swimmers who are ready to take the next step beyond swim lessons or recreational swimming.
With a long tradition of winning and sportsmanship, Lakeland Hills Y has a coaching staff dedicated to the development of the all-around swimmer. For more information, contact the swim team office or log on to our team website at: http://www.lhyswim.com/

Is Your Child Ready for Swim Team?
LHY Swim Team evaluations are for new prospective team members. Swimmers should be at least 6 years old and comfortable in the water.
As a general guideline, swimmers should be competent in at least two strokes. Swimmers age 8 and under should be able to complete 25 yards of each stroke, while swimmers ages 9–12 should be prepared to swim 50-yard distances. Evaluation details, age guidelines, and requirements may vary by season.
Evaluations and Joining the Team
New swimmers must complete an evaluation before joining LHY Swim Team. Evaluations typically include an instructional clinic and an informal time trial. Once team selections are announced, a deposit is required to hold a swimmer’s spot.
For the most current evaluation dates, team information, tryout results, practice group details, and registration steps, please visit the official LHY Swim Team website.
