Cardiac Care Maintenance
The program is designed to help heart patients maintain the best possible cardiovascular health following a heart attack or other cardiac procedures. Y membership and a signed clearance form from your doctor or rehab center are required before starting your maintenance program. In person registration only.

In partnership with the National MS Society, the One Step Program is a 7-week wellness course designed for adults medically diagnosed with MS. Participants are provided a comfortable and accessible environment to encourage therapeutic exercise addressing the issues of fatigue, mobility, weakness, and depression. Medical clearance required. The class is FREE for members & $89 for non-members, but all must register.
Cancer is a life-changing disease that takes a tremendous physical and emotional toll on those affected, The Y and LIVESTRONG have joined together to create LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a research-based physical activity and well-being program designed to help adult cancer survivors reclaim their total health. Participants work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to safely achieve their goals such as building muscle mass and strength, increasing flexibility and endurance, and improving confidence and self-esteem. By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is helping people move beyond cancer – in spirit, mind and body.
12-week sessions begin April 22 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 pm.
Program is offered at no cost to cancer survivors and individuals currently undergoing treatment. Y membership not required. For more information, contact Darlene Kievit, Group Fitness & Wellness Director.
NEW! Beginning the week of October 29
We are excited to announce this new, 16-week program (Oct 29 – Feb 17) for arthritis management. EnhanceFitness helps older adults become more active, energized, and empowered for independent living. With aerobic, strength, flexibility and balance training, this program is especially beneficial for older adults living with arthritis.
Many programs claim to improve the health of older adults. Few can demonstrate real results based on sound scientific research. Our specially trained staff are committed to your successful outcome! This program is backed by years of solid scientific research and has been identified as a Falls Prevention program at the highest level federally by the National Council on Aging (NCOA) Evidence-Based Falls Prevention Program Review Council.
Class is offered with a choice of two sessions.
Mon/Wed 8:15-9:15 a.m.
Wed/Fri 11:15 a.m-12:15 p.m.
Free with full membership but registration is required.

If you’re at risk for type 2 diabetes, you can make small, measurable changes that can reduce your risk and help you live a happier, healthier life.
The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program helps overweight adults at risk for type 2 diabetes reduce their risk for developing the disease by taking steps that will improve their overall health and well-being. This program provides a supportive environment where participants work together to achieve the program goals of reducing individual weight by 7% and building up to 150 minutes of moderate (the equivalent of brisk walking) physical activity per week for the purpose of reducing their risk for developing diabetes. The program is delivered over a 12-month period in a classroom setting and can be offered in any community location to participants who meet qualification criteria putting them at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.

• A group that offers motivation and support
